In the NY Times podcast transcript, meteorologist Judson Jones describes hurricane Otis as “the ultimate nightmare scenario” and “unheard of in meteorology terms.” This category 5 hurricane went from a relatively mild tropical storm to one of the most powerful hurricanes ever recorded in less than 24 hours.
