DisasterAWARE helps organizations understand risk and impact from global natural disasters, catastrophes, severe weather, and physical threats.
Our platform and intelligence are used before, during, and after events to monitor emerging hazards, identify exposure, assess damage, and minimize disruption to people, assets, and operations. We specialize in hazards such as global floods, wildfires, tropical cyclones, severe convective storms, earthquakes, landslides, civil unrest, strikes, and protests, as well as provide post-catastrophe analytics and damage assessment powered by satellite imagery.
Organizations such as FEMA, the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Military, the United Nations, the Red Cross, Marsh and Crisis24 rely on our real-time, early warning, and historical data to strengthen preparedness, response, and resilience.
Our organization was established as the licensing arm of the Pacific Disaster Center (PDC), a non-profit dedicated to supporting humanitarian assistance and disaster relief organizations worldwide. The Enterprise team brought together veterans from the computer industry and members of the DisasterAWARE technical staff to make this vision a reality.
We continue to collaborate closely with PDC to jointly develop and refine DisasterAWARE applications and services. Managed under a cooperative agreement between the U.S. Department of Defense and the University of Hawai‘i, PDC brings decades of expertise in hazard science and disaster management. Our team complements this expertise with experience in licensing university-developed technology products for commercial markets, ensuring that businesses have access to the same powerful tools that aid organizations have relied on for years.
